Enter to win a copy of award-winning author Daniel Scott Tysdal’s new book of poetry, The Mourner’s Book of Albums. Today’s prose poem on CommuterLit.com is “What is Missing,” featured in The Mourner’s Book of Albums, an exploration of the elegiac tradition and the 21st-century attitude to remembrance and grief. To win a copy of the book, courtesy of us, all you have to do is write a comment or short poem on the topic of impromptu memorials in the Comment section. The best entry will win.

Earlier this month, Tightrope Books announced the launch of The Best Canadian Short Stories 2011, as part of our Best Canadian series.

So, Tightrope walkers, what’s your favourite Canadian short story, short story author, or short story collection? Reply with your answer (here at the blog, in a DM on Twitter, on the Facebook fan page, or by emailing tightropepublicity@gmail.com) by 5 pm EST next Friday, September 4, and we’ll enter you in a draw. Then we’ll randomly draw a winner. That winner will get one copy of each of our spring 2009 books (She’s Shameless, Somewhere to Run From, Fortune Cookie, and Bone Dream). Simple contest; awesome prize.

Good luck, and happy reading!
