What Could Be More Raw Than a Jewish Cougar?

When was the last time you spoke with a Jewish woman over 45?  Was it in temple?  Was it over bagels with cream cheese and locks?  Or was it in bed with the sheets tangled around your ankles as she exceeds all expectations of a loving lover, your spoken words really gutteral moans that belie untapped depths of sexual pleasure?  My Bubbie would be so embarrassed by my imagination right now.

But you know who wouldn’t be?  Rita Poliakov, of the Canadian Jewish News; she interviewed Confessions of a Reluctant Cougar author, Myna Wallin, about men who are attracted to cougars, the sexual dynamics between an oldie and a youngin, and the protagonist’s sense of life and spirituality.  While many media outlets focus on the campy-ness of cougarhood, Poliakov’s interest in the layers of life experiences that make up Wallin’s and her protagonist’s distinct worldviews is refreshing.
