The inaugural book in Tightrope’s YA “Jumprope” imprint, Roll With It depicts the journey of figure skater turned roller derby girl Neddy Slater. The magazine noted: “Heather Wood has drawn a nicely rounded character in Neddy. Her inner turmoil is subtly played out… The story will find an appreciative audience with both forms of skating.”

Tightrope’s David Clink to Host Annual Dead Poets’ Night

TombstoneDavid Clink, author of two collections of poetry by Tightrope Books, (Eating Fruit out of Season &  Monster,  will be organizing/hosting the ninth annual Dead Poets Society Night on Tuesday, December 13 at the Art Bar.

Readings start at 8:00 pm. The Art Bar series takes place at Pauper’s Pub (2nd floor), 539 Bloor St. W., Toronto (1 block east of Bathurst subway).

15 readers will each be reading for 5-6 minutes from the work of a dead poet: Lillian Allen; Phlip Arima; Truth Is; Monica S. Kuebler; Moira MacDougall; Helen Marshall; Bruce Meyer; Nathaniel G. Moore; A. F. Moritz; John Oughton; Cathy Petch; Lisa Richter; Matthew Tierney; Nichola “Nicki” Ward; and, Rod Weatherbie.
