I never fail to be stopped in my place and rendered into emotional syrups when great words are spoken, so I completely identify with Molly Peacock’s statement that: “As I sat here [in St. Paul's Chapel], listening to poems I’ve heard many times, to hear the resonance of them, makes me appreciate these writers even more.”
The Trinity Wall Street website reviewed six Canadian poets’ performances on August 18 at St. Paul’s Chapel, the famous church that overlooks the World Trade Center towers. The “Group of Six… Poets” includes Sue Sinclair, Ken Babstock, Nick Thran, Matthew Tierney, A.F. Moritz, and Molly Peacock, who also emceed the event. These are the same poets who read at the Bryant Park “Word for Word” poetry series, and are featured in the blog post below.
