Congratulations Karen Solie for winning last night’s prestigious, (and this year, doubly lucrative) Griffin Poetry Prize for her collection Pigeon.
Judges called the work a collection of “poems as humorous, often, as they are sobering,” adding that “once again, Solie shows that her ear is impeccable, her poetic intelligence rare and razor-sharp.”
