Griffin poetry prize recipient and editor of Tightrope’s The Best Canadian Poetry 2009, A.F. Moritz is participating in the Blue Metropolis Translation Slam at Luminato, Toronto Festival of Arts and Creativity.

The event will be held at the Isabel Bader Theatre is at 93 Charles Street West. Admission is free.

The event will showcase the art of translation in poetry. A.F. Moritz will read one of his poems in English, and two translators *Ainong Ma *and *Lien Chao * will read the Mandarin translations each has worked on independently. With the help of bilingual host *Yan Liang*, the event is interactive and fun for both participants and the audience. Since the translations are invariably very different, the Slam is an ideal way to highlight the art of literary translation – and the difference each translator makes.

Blue Metropolis Translation Slam is the signature event of Blue Metropolis Foundation and has been a popular mainstay at Luminato since the very beginning in 1999.
