Earlier this month, Tightrope Books announced the launch of The Best Canadian Short Stories 2011, as part of our Best Canadian series.

So, Tightrope walkers, what’s your favourite Canadian short story, short story author, or short story collection? Reply with your answer (here at the blog, in a DM on Twitter, on the Facebook fan page, or by emailing tightropepublicity@gmail.com) by 5 pm EST next Friday, September 4, and we’ll enter you in a draw. Then we’ll randomly draw a winner. That winner will get one copy of each of our spring 2009 books (She’s Shameless, Somewhere to Run From, Fortune Cookie, and Bone Dream). Simple contest; awesome prize.

Good luck, and happy reading!

  1. Stephen Leacock. I know he's a wee bit old fashioned but there ya go.

  2. Emma says:

My fave Canadian short story collection the Broken Record Technique by Lee Henderson.

  3. Hey Oscar Fellini – your name was selected as the winner! Congrats! You'll be winning four books. If you want them mailed to you, email your address to tightropepublicity@gmail.com. If you're in Toronto, you can also just stop by the Tightrope offices at 602 Markham Street (lower level) on a weekday between 10 and 5. Let me know when you might stop by so that we can be sure someone will be there.

    Thanks for playing!
